Moving with a cat

Moving day is usually very worrying for your four-legged friend as there is a lot of hustle and bustle. There are two ways you can reduce your cat’s stress levels:

Option 1: Your cat will stay in the old apartment until the end, in a safe space where it can relax while the boxes and furniture are removed from the other rooms. Provide your cat with its usual bed, scratching post, toys, litter box, food and water. A transport container offers your cat an additional retreat. Make sure the room is locked at all times, and if other people are helping you move, put a notice on the door.

Option 2: Put your cat in a carrier in the car or van. It’s often quieter there. Your cat can’t run away, and you and your removal team have unimpeded access to every room in the home. If you choose this option, make sure the temperature in the vehicle is comfortable (not too cold or too warm).
