If you are a fan of the Lion King you will love this crazy theory about the death of Mufasa

In the 1994 Disney animated classic The Lion King, the villain Scar he warned his gang of hyenas to «be prepared» for King Mufasa’s death.

Well, nothing will prepare you for a new viral TikTok fan theory positing that Scar ate Mufasa after he sent his brother to ruin.

The TikTok User ClassyKing0 (with the help of a fellow TikToker notalexislol ) made the case for how the already traumatic scene would likely have continued to play out in the real animal kingdom, as reported by BuzzFeed.

Wondering what happened to the body of Simba’s late father, ClassyKing0 showed off his research on whether or not hyenas eat lions, apparently the most plausible explanation… except maybe other lions, in an act of dominance. He’s creepy but isn’t that typical of Scar?

If you think there’s no way Disney could have even alluded to such a dark outcome in a beloved kids’ movie, ClassyKing0 added Exhibit B. In a later scene that fans will remember, Scar can be seen holding a skull while Zazu caged. sings I have a beautiful bunch of coconuts».

The TikToker pointed out that said skeletal remains could be from another lion, namely Mufasa. Why? A simple Google image search showed that the skull Scar was holding looks an awful lot like that of a lion.

Now, if you’re feeling absolutely shocked, you’re not alone. The good news, though, is that this isn’t the first time someone has suggested that Scar kept Mufasa’s skull as a trophy, and at least one person doesn’t buy the theory. A January 2019 YouTube video by user B King examined several skulls of animals native to the African savannah, deciding that the one Scar was holding most likely belonged to a baboon.

Unless the 90s Disney filmmakers made a statement, there’s no way of knowing what exactly happened to Mufasa after his death, as it would all have happened off-screen.

It’s all based on events that happened off-screen.

Mufasa’s body could have been taken to Pride Rock and possibly buried, or it could have been left in the wild to rot naturally.

There is also no way of knowing that the skull Scar is playing with is Mufasa’s, as it could be the skull of another cat-like creature or one of a completely different lion. Now that this theory is out in the world, fans will have to decide for themselves whether or not they believe Scar ate Mufasa in The Lion King.
