Ingredients

  • 1/2 pound spaghetti pasta
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 and 1/2 liters of water
  • Rosemary, thyme or any spice of your choice (optional)

Preparation

Step 1. Boil

In a deep pot, place the liter and a half of water, also add salt to taste, a spice of your choice and stir. When you see that the water is already releasing medium bubbles (not completely boiling), it is because it will be ready for the next step.

Step 2. Add

Put the pasta directly into the pot. Obviously it won’t fit right away (a part of the spaghetti will be out of the pot) so wait for the part that is already inside to cook for a few seconds and at that moment, gradually submerge the rest of the pasta with the help of kitchen tongs or a fork.

Step 3. Stir

You must continuously turn the pasta, without doing much force as it can break. If you want your pasta to come out al dente, let it cook for 8 minutes, but if you like it softer, leave it for about 10 minutes, always over medium heat.

Step 4. Serve

After the cooking time, remove your pasta in a strainer to remove excess water. At this point you should already know what sauce you want to bathe it with or simply if you want to use it later, completely cover the bowl where you have your spaghetti with a cloth. Now yes, good appetite!
