Inspiration

Inspired by the Mediterranean architectural tradition, especially the adobe towers of North Africa, Ricardo Bofill demonstrates his admiration for Arab culture through the red wall.

Its cross form that integrates different volumes simulates a fortified enclosure that emerges from the rocks, overlooking the sea to connect with the nature of the place.

Another of the characteristic elements of the red wall, are Its colors, which stand out within the natural landscape. The outer facade in red tones, contrasts remarkably with the range of roses, blue and violets of the stairs, patios and bridges.

Architecture

The red wall architecture is based on geometryspecifically, in the form of Greek cross. However, the interesting thing about this building is the grouping of different volumes and levels.

The intersection of Bofill volumes is based on the design of stairs, corridors and bridges that connect the departments with the common areas such as the pool, the sauna and different terraces.

This way, The red wall is emerging as a modern architectural jewel of Spain, which in which color and geometry dialogue with the Mediterranean landscape.
